10DLC Registration
Register your brand and campaigns for 10DLC sending
10DLC Registration
10DLC (10-digit long code) registration is required for sending A2P (application-to-person) SMS in the United States. TextPilot handles the registration process through your dashboard.
Why 10DLC?
US carriers require businesses to register their brand and messaging campaigns. Without registration, messages may be filtered or blocked. 10DLC provides:
- Higher throughput — registered campaigns get better sending rates
- Better deliverability — carrier-approved messages avoid spam filters
- Compliance — meet carrier and TCPA requirements
Registration Flow
1. Register Your Brand
Navigate to Dashboard → 10DLC Registration and click Register Brand. You'll need:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Company Name | Yes | Your legal business name |
| EIN | No | Employer Identification Number (improves trust score) |
| Vertical | Yes | Business category (e.g., Technology, Healthcare) |
| Website | No | Your company website |
After submitting, your brand is reviewed by The Campaign Registry (TCR). This typically takes 1–3 business days.
2. Register a Campaign
Once your brand is approved, create a campaign:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Use Case | Yes | What you're sending (e.g., "OTP verification") |
| Description | Yes | Detailed description of your messaging |
| Sample Messages | Yes | Example messages you'll send |
| Opt-in | Yes | Whether users opt in to receive messages |
Campaign review typically takes 1–5 business days.
3. Request a Phone Number
After campaign approval, request a dedicated phone number:
- Toll-Free — works immediately, no campaign association required
- 10DLC — requires approved campaign, better deliverability for high volume
Registration Status
Statuses are polled automatically every 15 minutes:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
draft | Not yet submitted |
submitted | Sent to carrier for review |
reviewing | Under carrier review |
approved | Ready to use |
rejected | Rejected — check status reason and resubmit |
Sending Without 10DLC
You can start sending immediately using the shared number pool (no registration required). This works well for low-volume testing and development. For production US traffic, 10DLC registration is strongly recommended.
